I recently took a round-trip tour in Sri Lanka and had a chance to visit areas where villages are clashing with Elephants. It seems that people have occupied Elephants territory for housing. The other reason for the clash is lack of food for Elephants. They are coming to paddy fields and farms to find a meal. This is a dangerous situation as the villages are doing everything to protect their assets and lives. This is causing deaths of many elephants.
