Colombo ART Biennale 2009.

Colombo’s very first ART Biennale will take place from 10 to 14th September bringing together over 50 artists from Sri Lanka and overseas under the theme of `Imaging peace’.  As in other Art Biennales held in Venice, New York and Sydney, the Colombo Art Biennale (CAB) is expected to take place once every two years and will encourage artists to showcase their creativity in various forms.   The central art show will be held within five warehouses down Park Street Mews in Colombo 2 as well as in over 20 other locations in the city.  Considering the success of the Kala Pola held each February, the CAB is set to become a much anticipated event in Sri Lanka’s art calendar.  For more information contact:  www.colomboartbiennale.com.
